Change is Constant – is about to begin.
I’ve recently set up a Substack to share, over time: Insight, opinion & tips from c40 years of my practical know-how from Change to Transformation.
It’s all very new. But you must start somewhere, right? And in the words of Art Williams... Just do it! So, here we go.
Why Change is Constant, why now
I’ve recently decided to – “Semi-retire”!
What does that mean?
It means I’m going to focus on the things that are important in life, as, sadly we all know, life’s too short, right?
So, in short it means; I’ve sort of retired BUT I am still wanting to give something back and keep my “little grey cells” ticking over.
OK, So What?
I have always been motivated by helping others and I want to continue doing so. I don’t know how many people / organisations I’ve helped; I’ve never kept count. But it’s a lot, I’ve been doing it for a long time.
And people have consistently kindly told me that I’m pretty good at it. As we go forward, I may well share some of the things those people have said. But not today.
Over the years, I’ve truly enjoyed helping people & organisations change. I trust you’ll understand when I say I will have had to have created lots of “content” to support said changes. This content will have been conveyed verbally by me, on a 1:1 basis, with teams or for larger audiences and supported with various written presentations, guides, checklists.
I also always wanted to write a book. A couple of years ago, with my then business partner, Gethyn Ellis, we set out to do so.
One year ago, it was published, and amazingly it became a #1 amazon best seller.
It was called Building a data driven culture. But it was really all about Change. A link is on my resources page on here if you want to check it out.
I’d got the writing bug!
Who is Change is Constant for?
It’s for people who want to improve themselves / turn their vision into reality. I hope to offer advice & guidance, inform, perhaps inspire thinking or simply provide re-assurance that you're on the right track. ✅
When is Change is Constant likely to be published?
I’ve squirrelled away a lot over the years, I just need find the time to dust it off and make it presentable and consumable. I’ll also need to try out what works and doesn’t, so any feedback / comments will always be helpful.
As I’ve indicated though, I’ve recently retired. Whilst I do have a little more time to “give something back”, I’ve also retired for a reason. I have other things I want to spend my time on! So, the plan is… “something” perhaps every couple of weeks or so.
Wish me luck?
You know what they say L.U.C.K is?
Labour - Under - Correct - Knowledge 🤞
And it’ almost inevitable that Insight, opinion & tips on L.U.C.K, perhaps how you make your own L.U.C.K will be the subject of a future post. Watch this space 👀 ?
What’s on the cards for next time?
Next time I thought I’d draw some analogies between my own recent story of semi-retirement and Change. Maybe you’ll find something that resonates?
